Bigg Boss 19: Awez Darbar Slams Contestants For Body-Shaming Ashnoor Kaur, Calls Remarks ‘Disgusting As Always’

On the show Bigg Boss 19, actor-dancer-content creator Awez Darbar publicly criticised several contestants for making derogatory comments about fellow contestant Ashnoor Kaur’s appearance. A video shared by Ashnoor’s team on Instagram shows participants including Tanya Mittal, Neelam Giri and Shehbaz Badesha engaging in body-shaming remarks directed at the actress.
Darbar reposted Ashnoor’s clip on his Instagram story, writing: “Disgusting remarks like always!!! But I know @ashnoorkaur is strong she will handle it with grace (sic).”

Ashnoor’s team added context to the shared footage with a caption: “Some people forget that kindness is the strongest form of power. What happened with Ashnoor inside that house wasn’t just disappointing—it was inhumane. Yet even after facing hurtful comments and unfair behaviour, she didn’t lose her calm, her grace, or her heart! She didn’t fight back with anger, she responded with maturity. She didn’t mirror their cruelty, she stood taller with compassion. And when she didn’t even have to, she apologised because that’s who she is. A girl raised with values, not ego.”

In the same week’s nominations episode, Ashnoor and fellow contestant Abhishek Bajaj were seen conversing without wearing mics, prompting the housemates to deliberate whether they should be penalised. When no consensus was reached, the show’s captain Mridul Tiwari was tasked to decide; he chose to keep Ashnoor and Abhishek safe from nomination, and consequently all other contestants were nominated instead—a decision that left some like Kunickaa Sadanand and Farhana Bhatt visibly upset.
